Phoenix Family Tree
Phoenix taught me how to live, how to emerge from a deep depression and how to take care of myself while maintaining the balance necessary to help others along the way. Her Earthwalk was short. Her life is a very long story... but man did she leave an impact on the people we met on our hikes together. Much like a flash of lightning that illuminates everything for miles around, disappears in an instant and leaves us mere humans standing awestruck holding the memory...
That was "my girl" and here are her bloodlines.

Phoenix was born on May 9, 2007
Her mother Eclipse, gave birth to six pups in a den at a licensed educational facility
in Saskatchewan, Canada. That's Phoenix at the top of the heap (pictured left), the grey one with the black nose. She was an F1 93% High Content Wolfdog who acted like a pure wolf from the moment I brought her home. Two of her younger brothers, Arthur and Wyatt born in 2008, work for Instinct Animals for Film in Alberta. Two more of her younger siblings born in 2008, her full sister Kuna and her half brother Zeus, reside at Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary in Alberta. |

I think Phoenix grew to look like her Grandmother above.

Can you see the family resemblance?
A friend took this photo of Phoenix in the backyard. |
Things I learned from my Wolfdog, "Phoenix"I recorded some of the lessons that Phoenix taught me.
We spent many hours hiking about town and through the woods together. The photos in this lovely hardcover book portray the short story of her life - a memorial to honor our partnership. Proceeds from the sale of this book contribute to the building of our facility, ThunderWolf Medicine Lodge & Sanctuary. Thank you! |
